Obituary of Meschelle Yvette Johnson
Meschelle Johnson was born on September 29, 1953, in St. Paul, MN to the parents of Wille Mae Johnson and Odell Johnson Sr. From that union Meschelle was born into a loving family with twelve siblings Marcheta, Ra’nese, Verdean, Keith, Gladys, Lemuel, Rita, Stanley, Janet, William, Wanaki, & Odell Jr.
Meschelle received her formal education from Mechanic Arts High school in St. Paul, MN, graduating in 1971. Meschelle later that year moved to Chicago, IL where she attended Madam CJ Walker Cosmetology School in which she received her cosmetology license in 1974. Meschelle loved the art of making people look beautiful by doing their hair. Meschelle, although a true hairstylist she later became an employee at Illinois Bell phone company. She still made people look beautiful by continuing to do hair. While Meschelle resided in Chicago, she met Tommy Whitfield in 1980 and was blessed with two handsome sons Tommy and Thaddues. In 1993 Meschelle returned to St. Paul where she became an employee of Walmart and later working her way up and becoming a supervisor until her retirement. Meschelle loved her family and friends. She was always open to lending a helping hand whenever she could. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandkids.
Meschelle transitioned into His heavenly arms on Wednesday. January 24, 2024.
Meschelle leaves to cherish her precious memories to her loving sons Tommy (Kizzy), Thaddeus (Rickia), her grandchildren Ta’Vasia, Keshawn, Takyhia, Te’Nija, Treasure, Tommy Jr, Thaddeus Jr, Courtaveon & many more grandchildren in love.
She also leaves to cherish her lifelong companion Leonard, a special daughter in love Felicia, her parenting partner and lifelong friend Tommy, a host of nieces, nephews and lifelong friends that will always hold special memories as well.
